O acendimento de fogueiras em espaços urbanos continua probido na Paraíba. Isso é o que determina a Lei Estadual 11.711, de 19 de junho de 2020, que continua em vigor no Estado. Portanto, a Superintendência de Administração do Meio Ambiente (Sudema) está intensificando a fiscalização no período junino e pede para quem se deparar com fogueiras em áreas urbanas denunciar a infração pelos telefones (83) 9 8844-2191 (Sudema) ou 190 (Polícia Militar).
Com a chegada do período junino, muito se perguntou sobre a possibilidade ou não de se voltar a acender fogueiras na Paraíba. A Sudema esclarece que a lei em vigor proíbe o acendimento de fogueiras em todos os espaços urbanos do estado enquanto durar a pandemia do coronavírus, o que vem gerando dúvidas na população, tendo em vista que, recentemente, a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) decretou o fim do estado de emergência em saúde, o que levou muita gente a acreditar que seria o fim da pandemia.
“É importante frisar que a Lei Estadual n. 11/711/2020 continua em vigor, uma vez que ainda vivemos o estado de pandemia. Sendo assim, a Sudema está intensificando suas fiscalizações neste período de São João, buscando coibir a prática de infrações ambientais e fazer valer o cumprimento da legislação pertinente”, comentou o chefe da Divisão de Fiscalização da autarquia, Capitão Aragão.
Segundo ele, aquele que for pego descumprindo a norma será sujeito a multa de dez UFR-PB – pouco mais de R$ 600,00 –, aplicada em dobro em caso de reincidência. “É importante lembrar que a fumaça das fogueiras pode causar irritação nas vias aéreas, agravando o quadro de covid-19 e de outras doenças respiratórias, além de trazer transtornos ao meio ambiente”, completou.
