O uso e a comercialização de coleiras eletrificadas ou de choque em animais estão proibidas no município de João Pessoa. A lei, de autoria do vereador Guga, foi publicada no Diário Oficial do Município desta terça-feira (8).
A lei considera a coleira eletrificada ou de choque aquela que emite descarga elétrica de forma automática ou por controle remoto quando o animal se movimenta, ladra ou emite algum som. A coleira servia para controlar o comportamento do cão no processo de adestramento.
A coleira eletrificada era usada para deixar o animal refém da vontade exclusiva dos seus tutores. O objeto emite uma corrente elétrica que é enviada da medula espinhal para todo o corpo do animal, provocando cãibras, queimaduras no pescoço, aumento do estresse e problemas na saúde mental e emocional do animal.
A lei não estabelece punições imediatas, mas os infratores podem ser enquadrados no artigo 225, parágrafo 1º, inciso VII, da Constituição Federal, que defende a fauna e flora brasileira.
