O ex-motorista Josias Nunes de Oliveira, 70 anos, que chegou a ser indiciado pelo acidente que matou Juscelino Kubistschek, reafirmou, nesta segunda-feira, que não houve colisão com o carro que levava o ex-presidente. Ele disse, durante depoimento à Comissão de Direitos Humanos da Assembleia Legislativa de Minas Gerais, que foi coagido na época a assumir que o ônibus que dirigia bateu no Opala de JK. Após ser inocentado pela Justiça, Josias tornou-se peça-chave no caso. No depoimento de hoje, ele contou que o delegado responsável pelo caso tentou convencê-lo a assumir a responsabilidade pelo acidente. Ele também relembrou que outros dois homens tentaram suborná-lo com uma mala de dinheiro. “Depois disso minha vida acabou. Simularam tinta no veículo em que estava o ex-presidente na lataria do ônibus e, com isso, fui indiciado pelo acidente”, contou aos parlamentares.

Além da comissão da Assembleia de Minas, o assunto vem sendo debatido na Câmara de São Paulo e no Rio. Com base nos depoimentos e perícias que constam nos autos do processo, os parlamentares tentam agora comprovar que não se trata de acidente, mas um atentado. De acordo com o presidente da Comissão de Direitos Humanos da Assembleia de Minas, deputado Durval Ângelo (PT), o pedido da nova audiência será feito à Comissão Nacional da Verdade. “Eu vou requerer uma audiência pública, em Diamantina, com a Comissão Nacional da Verdade para que seja declarado o assassinato de JK”, afirmou. Na reunião de hoje também foi aprovado o envio das notas taquigráficas da reunião para às comissões da Verdade Nacional, Estadual e do Rio de Janeiro.

Ainda conforme o motorista, que voltou a contar a história, ele teria passado com o ônibus logo após o acidente, mas que, ao perceber que os ocupantes do veículo estavam mortos, seguiu viagem com os 33 passageiros.

O corpo do motorista de JK, Geraldo Ribeiro, enterrado no Cemitério da Saudade, em Belo Horizonte, foi exumado em 1996 e a perícia constatou que o fragmento metálico encontrado em seu crânio era um prego do caixão. No entanto, o fato levantou suspeitas e a especulação é que se trata de um projétil de bala, o que pode confirmar as hipóteses levantada de que se trata de um atentado. O Governo de Minas já acatou o pedido para que seja feita nova perícia no corpo de Geraldo.

Kubitschek morreu em agosto 1976 após um acidente de carro. O ex-presidente viajava de São Paulo para o Rio num Opala dirigido pelo seu motorista, Geraldo Ribeiro, que também morreu, depois de perder o controle e se chocar com uma carreta. Conforme a história conhecida e divulgada na época , Josias Oliveira dirigia o ônibus 1.348 da Viação Cometa que teria feito o motorista de JK perder o controle do Chevrolet Opala em uma curva da Rodovia Presidente Dutra, em Resende (RJ), e colidir de frente com uma carreta.

Os dois ocupantes do automóvel morreram. Juscelino tinha 73 anos. Dois anos antes do acidente, havia recuperado os direitos políticos cassados logo após o golpe militar de 1964 – ele era senador por Minas. A hipótese de atentado contra JK alega que o ex-presidente seria visto como “ameaça” por setores do regime e, por isso, teria sido “eliminado”.
