Os técnicos do Ministério da Integração e Desenvolvimento Regional (MIDR) encerraram, na tarde dessa quinta-feira (20), a agenda de reunião e visitas de campo à obra do Sistema Adutor das Vertentes Litorâneas da Paraíba Canal Acauã-Araçagi. O calendário de atividades técnicas da equipe foi iniciado na manhã da quarta-feira (19), com a presença dos dirigentes da Secretaria de Estado da Infraestrutura e dos Recursos Hídricos (Seirh), Deusdete Queiroga e Virgiane Melo.
O diretor do Departamento de Obras Hídricas e Apoio a Estudos de Segurança Hídrica do MIDR, Kleyber Nóbrega, disse que ficou satisfeito com o que viu. Ele percorreu diversos trechos da obra, onde presenciou as equipes de trabalho nos canteiros, de forma efetiva, com a obra sendo tocada dentro da normalidade. “É um imenso prazer estar na Paraíba e conhecer uma obra que vai beneficiar a população do estado”, ressaltou Kleyber.
O coordenador do gerenciamento da obra pela Companhia Brasileira de Projetos e Empreendimentos (Cobrape), Gilmar Ferreira, acompanhou os técnicos na visita, que teve início pelo lote 02 do canal, que percorre os municípios de Riachão do Poço, Sobrado, Sapé, Mari, Cuité de Mamanguape e Capim.
Nessa quinta-feira (20), a inspeção se deu no lote 01, iniciando pela tomada d’água, no Açude de Acauã, no município de Itatuba, onde presenciaram a abertura das válvulas dispersoras, visita à casa de comando, paradas em alguns trechos, seguindo o traçado do canal, percorrendo os municípios de Itatuba, Mogeiro, Itabaiana, São José dos Ramos, até o final do lote 01.
O coordenador-geral de análises de projetos do Departamentos de Obras Hídricas da Secretaria Nacional de Infraestrutura Hídrica do Ministério da Integração e do Desenvolvimento Regional (MIDR) Paulo Roberto Soares disse que o objetivo é acompanhar o andamento das obras, bem como de normalizar a descentralização orçamentária até a finalização do lote 02 e agilizar o processo de licitação do lote 03, cujos projetos o estado vai enviar ao MIDR até o próximo mês de julho, para análise, objetivando a liberação dos recursos.

A obra visa o atendimento e abastecimento de água potável para 38 municípios da região, em caráter regular e contínuo e, durante o período seco, o suprimento de água, permitindo o atendimento de uma área de aproximadamente 16 mil hectares de terras irrigadas, desde o Açude Acauã até o Rio Camaratuba, beneficiando mais de 600 mil habitantes.
